Dominican Republic to open voter-registry office in Haiti
SANTO DOMINGO.- The Central Electoral Board will open an office in Port-au-Prince to make it easy for Dominicans who live in Haiti's capital to obtain Civil Registry documents and Voter-ID cards.

Gustav leaves 8 Dominicans dead, thousands displaced

SANTO DOMINGO. - The Emergency Operations Center (COE) in its last bulletin said Hurricane Gustav so far hasn't caused fatalities in the country, whereas 871 homes have been flooded, and 4,360 people have been displaced, 1,888 of which are in 15 shelters.
